We have been teased by spring for several weeks now. Finishing my barn chores up in my least favorite weather – raining and 40 degrees, makes me long for spring to arrive for real.
My lambs will begin arriving after April 7th. The ewes were sheared last week – gorgeous fleeces! They received their yearly vaccine & a deworming and their feet were trimmed. They are ready!
Without their fleeces I am better able to monitor them and usually determine if they are close to lambing, though I am sometimes fooled. I will be setting up lambing pens this week in preparation for the births.
Really hoping the mud dries up soon & the grass begins to grow….
